BELFIELD HOUSE
BUXTON

  • Belfield House is a new base for a company of funeral directors in Buxton, which required the maximum use of space for easy vehicle access within a relatively restricted site.
  • Two 8m-spanning Rundum Original side sliding doors allow vehicles to access the building via the rear yard, driven in the garage forwards (i.e. no need for reversing) and out to the main street when required with ease.
  • High quality design by Evans Vettori and excellent build standard resulted in Belfield House making the shortlist of the East Midlands RIBA Regional Awards 2020.
  • Within the building’s zinc façade is one of the two Rundum Original ‘round the corner’ side sliding doors, with a matching door to the rear.
  • Both doors hand-crafted in Germany from high strength extruded aluminium with a RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey finish to complement the colours of the building envelope.
  • Internally, each door slides along a wall-mounted internal track following the side of the building, neatly accommodating the doors when they are open, so the garage space is maximised for pedestrian access, storage and utilities.
