BESPOKE GARAGE DOOR MANUFACTURER
Rundum Meir has been helping architects and contractors
design beautiful bespoke garage doors, for over 50 years
From material selection and concept designs right through to integrating the latest technology, architects strive to create spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
Bespoke garage doors are increasingly specified onto high value residential properties, to enhance the architectural vision and elevate the property’s curb appeal.
With over 50 years of experience, here at Rundum Meir we have established ourselves as a trusted bespoke garage door manufacturer, dedicated to delivering exceptional quality and customised garage door solutions for discerning clients.

We understand architects’ challenges when designing bespoke garage doors
Architects face unique challenges when integrating garage doors into concept designs.
Aesthetic integration
One of the primary challenges architects face is achieving the desired aesthetic vision. This involves designing a garage door that matches and enhances a luxury property’s overall design standard.
Factors that influence the aesthetics include material selection, garage door style, integrating automation tracks, designing a door for large openings, round-the-corner designs, and incorporating glazing or other design options.
Traditional, mass-produced garage door designs offer a limited aesthetic appeal that doesn’t match the architectural style and attention to detail of luxury properties, offering an underwhelming solution for end clients.
Functional requirements and performance
Beyond aesthetics, functional performance is a critical consideration. Architects must ensure that garage doors operate smoothly and reliably, meeting the practical needs of homeowners while maintaining the integrity of the design.
Unique project specifications
Architects often need garage doors that are customised to fit non-standard dimensions or that incorporate specific features such as enhanced security systems, insulation for energy efficiency, or smart home integration.
Sustainability considerations
Today’s architectural landscape demands a more dedicated approach to sustainability. Architects are increasingly focused on selecting materials and products that minimise environmental impact and contribute to the overall sustainability of a project.
Compliance with UK Building Regulations
Architects must also navigate various regulatory and compliance requirements when designing garage doors. Ensuring designs comply and exceed Building Regulations is critical to project success, whilst having minimal impact on the overall visual appeal.

Rundum Meir has successfully completed numerous prestigious projects across the UK. Notable projects include:
Round House, Surrey
We designed and manufactured two curved Rundum Meir Original Side Sliding Timber Garage Doors.
Built as part of a project to renovate and extend a Grade II listed property, the garage design sought to replicate a traditional coach house in order to fit with the Surrey vernacular.
Aesthetics were of paramount importance as the large private family home was originally designed and built by eminent exponent of the vernacular tradition and Arts & Crafts in architecture, Harold Falkner.

Belgravia Mews House, London
A bespoke Up and Over Garage Door was designed and manufactured, bringing 21st century functionality, access and security to a Grade II listed property in London’s exclusive Belgravia.
The garage doors design was sympathetic to local architecture, including the stunning cobblestone street in front of the property.
The client brief was to retain the look of the existing swing opening garage door, but enable up and over automated functionality for improved access and to make best use of the available space.
Downley House, Hampshire
This extraordinary house featured an incredible eight metre concave, curved, automated, slide round the corner bespoke garage door, as part of our Specialist Collection.
The property is an award winning house and was not only featured on the tv show Grand Designs, but was host Kevin McCloud’s House of the Year.

No two projects are the same, and at Rundum Meir, we thrive on the challenge of creating bespoke solutions that perfectly align with the unique specifications of each project.
Our team of skilled designers and engineers work closely with architects from the initial concept to the final installation, ensuring that every detail is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the property.

Bespoke timber garage door manufacturer
The choice of timber for garage door design is fundamental to the door’s aesthetics, durability, and overall performance. Hardwoods like oak, teak, and mahogany are popular for their natural beauty, strength, and longevity.
When treated appropriately, these materials can withstand the elements as well as daily use, making them ideal for external applications such as garage doors.
The appeal of timber in residential architectural designs is deeply rooted in its inherent beauty and the warmth it adds to spaces. Unlike synthetic materials, timber matures and evolves, developing a rich visual appeal that adds character and depth to the architectural design.
Finally, with adequate treatment and maintenance, timber can last for decades being able to withstand various environmental conditions.
